Tim Cook, who steps down from his role as chief executive officer (CEO) of Apple in September, is set to take on the role of executive chairman of the technology company. Cook served as the company’s CEO for around 15 years and has been instrumental in driving its growth and increasing its revenue. Cook became part of Apple in 1998 and succeeded Steve Jobs, the company’s co-founder, as CEO in 2011. During his tenure at the company, Cook oversaw several major initiatives, including the launch of the Apple Watch, AirPods and the Vision Pro headset. John Ternus, senior vice-president of Apple’s hardware engineering division, will take on the role of CEO.
