India helped Nepal to reconstruct several of its heritage sites, aiding in their preservation and strengthening relations between the countries. The Gusthal Mahavihar and Agam of Prathamshree Mahavihar, Lalitpur–which was among the sites restored–was inaugurated on July 28 by India’s ambassador to Nepal, Naveen Srivastava, mayor of Lalitpur Metropolitan City, Chiribabu Maharjan, and Nepali member of parliament, Jagdish Kharel. The restoration initiative was part of post-earthquake support provided by India to Nepal following the destructive earthquake that struck Nepal in 2015.
