Scientists have found a new alloy while studying the de bris of the Hiroshima atomic bomb blast that occurred in Hiroshima, Japan, on August 6, 1945. The alloy, which scientists had never come across before, was discovered in a material called hiroshimaites in Japan’s Hiroshima Bay. It is a multicomponent alloy comprising many elements and was accidentally formed during the explosion that led to thousands of deaths and serious health conditions. The intense heat from the explosion caused substances in the area to vaporise, cool and solidify. Scientists believe the unknown alloy could have emerged during this process.
