The Art of the Subconscious Mind

Nitin Pal, Class 11, Government Senior Secondary School, Gurugram

Many school students today struggle with their studies. Although they study regularly and learn a great deal, they often struggle to recall what they have learned. The root of this problem lies not in intelligence, but in how the mind functions during study time. Most students operate only in a shallow conscious state instead of activating their powerful subconscious mind.

But what exactly is the subconscious state? The subconscious mind is a hidden yet powerful part of our mental system. When activated, it helps students become more disciplined, focussed and effective in their learning process.

Through my own observation and scrutiny, I noticed that students are easily distracted while studying. Even after completing a study session, much of the information fades away quickly. This pattern clearly indicates a deeper mental issue rather than a lack of effort or dedication.

I believe there is one effective solution to this problem—activating the subconscious state of the mind. Once activated, it helps students replace unwanted habits with productive learning behaviour and unlock their true potential.

This method is entirely based on my personal experience. Before beginning any study session, a student should dedicate 15 to 20 minutes solely to preparing the mind. During this time, the student should slowly enter a deeper subconscious state through focussed imagination.

In this imaginative process, one can visualise pulling an internal lever upwards with seriousness and concentration. As the lever moves up, imagine a powerful flow of energy activating the subconscious state of the mind.

By practising this technique sincerely, the mind begins to accept the idea that it has an internal mechanism to shift into an effective learning mode. With consistent practice for a week, the mind gradually adapts to this process.

As a result, students experience improved focus, deeper curiosity and a more active learning state, significantly improving overall learning effectiveness. This approach is a reflection of my own system, experience and understanding of the human mind.
