- To improve access to space research, a startup named TakeMe2Space based in Hyderabad has launched an artificial intelligence (AI) laboratory in space. The laboratory, called Orbital Infrastructure-Technology Demonstrator (MOI-TD), was placed in orbit by the Indian Space Research Organisation’s PSLV C60 rocket.
- This initiative intends to overcome the shortcomings of satellites in space by employing cutting-edge technology to enable in-orbit data processing.
- Though satellites produce extensive data, numerous environmental and atmospheric elements tend to influence the data, making it inaccurate and unusable. Furthermore, transmitting this data to Earth is time-consuming.
- MOI-TD will increase data transmission efficiency and speed and decrease costs.
