This shift has not been easy for everyone. As routine work gets automated, some people have lost jobs—something many families may have seen around them. At the same time, new companies like OpenAI and Anthropic are building powerful AI systems that can write, analyse and even create content. These tools are not just replacing tasks, they are changing how entire industries operate.
India is right at the centre of this transformation. Companies like TCS and Infosys are training employees to become “AI-ready”, while global firms such as JPMorgan Chase are expanding AI-related work in India. Organisations like the National Pay ments Corporation of India (NPCI) and Razorpay are using AI in payments and startups like HealthifyMe are combining AI with healthcare to create new kinds of roles.
At the India AI Summit 2026, major companies including Reliance, Google, Tata and Adani announced large investments in AI. The focus is not just on technology, but also on building skills, creating jobs and preparing India for the future.
So, while some jobs are changing or disappearing, many new ones are being created. For students today, the message is clear—learn, adapt and stay curious. AI is not just taking jobs—it is reshaping them.
