- To advance education in animal health and protection, Anant Ambani, the executive director of the conglomerate Reliance Industries, has launched a university focussed on veterinary sciences and wildlife conservation on a 3,000-acre rescue facility.
- Called Vantara University, it will provide various programmes and courses, enriching skills and knowledge in wildlife care, together with practical training.
- The institute, located in Gujarat’s Jamnagar, aims to produce wildlife specialists with expertise in fields such as wildlife diseases, behavioural sciences, epidemiology and genetics.
- The institute will also collaborate with international organisations and facilitate research, catering to the increase in wildlife and ecology-related issues.
