Finland has inspired numerous countries with its advanced war preparedness. The country has created an underground system that is used for daily activities and can also function as civil defence shelters that protect people during wars. Created in solid granite bedrock, the underground city is located beneath Helsinki. It comprises parking garages, play zones, swimming pools and various other facilities that people use daily. These facilities are also engineered to withstand several war conditions, helping to safe guard thousands of people in the event of emergencies. According to officials, the double-purpose strategy is extremely future-ready, sustainable, cost-effective and efficient.
