Researchers at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland, have created devices that move with the help of sound energy. Researchers developed tiny drones containing cavities that are capable of operating in air. When introduced to sound waves, the air within these cavities moves, causing the drones to move. According to researchers, controlling the sound frequency helps regulate the drone’s thrust. This invention has the potential to replace components such as motors on devices, allowing for the creation of lightweight devices.
