A student named Ahmed Abdelsalam from Massachusetts, USA, has developed a sustainable technique to create electricity. Ahmed has created a technology called VERDA that generates electricity from movements such as walking and the motion of waves and wind. The 12-year-old’s innovation reflects how clean energy can be derived from simple movements occurring daily. It has the potential to offer an eco-friendly and easily available alternative to traditional energy sources. Ahmed is one of the 10 finalists of the 2026 3M Young Scientist Challenge, a renowned science competition that promotes innovation among middle school students in USA.
