There is something quietly powerful about a dream that refuses to leave you. It lingers in the background of busy days and responsible routines. It nudges you when you see someone else doing what they love. It waits patiently while you probably think, ‘I don’t have the time for this.’
Following your dream is rarely convenient. It asks for time when you feel you have none. It demands effort when you are already tired. And yet, the very act of moving towards it, even in small steps, changes you.
Dreams are not always about fame or success. Sometimes they are about learning to paint. Joining an academy for tennis or hockey. Writing the first chapter of a book. Building something with your hands. The dream may or may not transform your life, but the discipline you build while chasing it, that certainly will change you and your life.
Vacations are often seen as a time when you can take a break from routine. That time is precious. It is the perfect time to begin something new. Vacations give you the freedom to experiment without fear of losing out on what you must wrap up in a day.
You do not need a perfect plan. You just need a start. Siddhi Bharat Naik did just that. She started painting when she was just seven. A class 9 student at DAV Public School in Telangana, today, she is showcasing and selling her artwork at a group exhibition at Kamalnayan Bajaj Art Gallery in Mumbai, a space that has frequently hosted diverse, contemporary and emerging artists, including painters and sculptors.
So, this summer vacation, ask yourself— what is the one dream you want to chase? Take the first small step during your break.
