Scientists discovered the fossil of a car-sized turtle in northeastern Spain. Called Leviathanochelys aenigmatica, this turtle was around 4mts in length and weighed a little less than two tonnes. It is believed to have lived approximately 83 million years ago during the Cretaceous period. It is the second-largest fossil of a turtle ever found, the largest on record being Archelon, which scientists believe existed approximately 70 million years ago and attained a length of about 4.6mts.
