Japan’s Noto Satoyama Airport has been redesigned, incorporating a Pokémon theme that is set to amuse children, thrill Pokémon fans and enhance tourism in the region. The airport, located in Japan’s Ishikawa Prefecture, is poised to reopen as ‘Noto Satoyama Pokémon With You Airport’ and will include Pokémon-themed airport signs, displays and installations. Pokémon-inspired eatables and merchandise will also be available in the airport. The airport will carry this rebranding from July 7 to September 30, 2029. The Ishikawa Prefecture collaborated with the Pokémon With You Foundation to undertake this project, which intends to revive tourism and spread positivity after the deadly Noto Peninsula earthquake in 2024.
