MATERIALS
- 3 tissue rolls
- Tape
- 5 satay sticks
- Handful of grains or pulses
- Chart paper in yellow and pink
- Blue ribbon
- Crayons
METHOD
- Use tape to stick the 3 tissue rolls together to create a long, hollow pipe.
- Cut 2 circles from the pink chart paper large enough to cover the top and bottom of the pipe.
- Cover an open end of the pipe with the paper.
- Pierce the pipe with satay sticks at different levels and in different directions.
- Cut off the portion of the sticks poking out of the pipe and fill the pipe with grains.
- Cover the second open end of the pipe with the second circle as shown.
- Cover the entire pipe with the yellow chart paper as shown.
- Draw brown-coloured vertical lines on your rainstick and then tie blue ribbons on each end.
- Your rainstick is ready. Shake it to create music.
