Letter from the Editor: April 16, 2025

A note from our editor, Cherry Divecha-Shethia, to mark RobinAge’s 17th Anniversary.

At RobinAge, we have always believed in one simple rule—content is king. In an age of screens and distractions, what continues to win the hearts of our readers is our content, which informs, engages and empowers young minds. It is this commitment to quality content that has earned RobinAge the KidsStopPress Award for Best Children’s Newspaper & Magazine for the seventh time!

Current Affairs - Kid-Friendly News

This isn’t just another trophy—it is a recognition of the work we do fortnight after fortnight, creating content that parents, teachers and most importantly, children, trust and love. And the numbers speak for themselves–11 major awards in 17 years–a proud reminder that when you put children first, the world notices.

But the real strength of meaningful content isn’t measured in awards alone. Sometimes, it leads to change. This year, thanks to the inspiring efforts of Ariana Singhi, a 17-year-old student from Bombay International School, RobinAge has become accessible to 44,000 visually impaired readers across India. Ariana worked to make RobinAge available on Sugamya Pustakalaya, India’s largest digital library for people with print disabilities—a collaborative initiative of TCS, the Government of India, Daisy Forum of India and the National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Visual Disabilities (NIEPVD). Amongst over 6,81,000 books, RobinAge now holds a space for young readers who were earlier excluded.

This year, we have also seen remarkable entries for the RobinAge Bright Sparks Awards 2024-25. Many of these are young writers with books to their name, social thinkers, entrepreneurs and students who are turning their ideas and voices into something permanent and powerful.

We at RobinAge firmly believe that the key to opening minds, creating changemakers and building a community of curious, compassionate youngsters is knowledge that empowers children to shake up the traditional ways of doing things. And we couldn’t be prouder of everything this year’s RBSA applicants have achieved.
