A Russian mountaineer named Rustam Nabiev has accomplished an extraordinary feat by becoming the first double amputee to scale the formidable Mount Everest with his hands. Nabiev, who is a former Russian soldier, reached the 8,848.86mt-high summit on May 20, showcasing unwavering determination and earning praise from around the world. He underwent rigorous training and braved many obstacles before reaching this milestone. Nabiev, who lost his legs in 2015 due to the collapse of military barracks, remained resolute, courageous and optimistic. Despite the devastating loss, he went on to scale Mount Manaslu, the eighth-highest mountain in the world, and Mount Elbrus, the highest mountain in Europe and Russia.
