Scientists studied ancient ice from Antarctica using sensitive instruments and discovered this rare material in it. This discovery provides proof that the solar system is journeying through the Local Interstellar Cloud, a cloud comprising radioactive matter that resulted from a supernova explosion thousands of years ago. According to scientists, this material is gathering on Earth as the solar system passes through the cosmic cloud.
