Debadrita Sarkar, a class 11 student at Tarakeswar Mahavidyalaya in West Bengal, is an author, self-illustrator and poet. She began writing at the age of 12 and has written numerous poems, blogs and books over the years, reflecting her passion for writing and literature. Among the books authored by her are ‘Becoming a Para Athlete: A Story of Inclusion’, ‘Awakening of Soul for Those Who Want to Heal…’ and ‘As Her Roots Were Cut’. She has been recognised by the India Book of Records for having her work published in 20 periodicals across six countries–including USA, UK and India–and newspapers in a year. Debadrita also encourages others to write through some of her initiatives.
