Archaeologists have found an ancient cave close to Fureidis in Israel, allowing them to study the culture of the people who inhabited it thousands of years ago. According to archaeologists, the approximately 3,00,000-year-old cave contained several items, including scrapers, handaxes and bones of animals, reflecting the tool-making skills and hunting behaviour of its inhabitants. Based on the tools and other discoveries, archaeologists believe the cave’s inhabitants belonged to the Acheulo-Yabrudian culture. A unique aspect of the discovery is that the cave is mostly intact, giving archaeologists insights into an era about which little is known.
