Giggles And Fun!

April 1 is celebrated as April Fools’ Day across the world. On this day, people play harmless tricks or pranks on each other to have lighthearted fun and enjoy a good laugh. Laughter not only brightens one’s mood and helps one feel refreshed, but it also decreases stress and creates a cheerful atmosphere. To spread the cheer this April Fools’ Day, SCARLETT RODRIGUES asked a few RobinAgers about their most hilarious experiences. Here’s what they had to say.

A hilarious incident that I remember was after a health assessment in the physical education (PE) period in school. We had to remove our shoes, but when I went to put my shoes back on, they had got mixed up with the shoes of another student. I ended up wearing shoes that were much bigger than my own and looked like a clown in them!

Last year, when my friends and I were playing Holi, a boy from the neighbourhood began annoying us. Even though we told him to stop bugging us, he did not listen. So, we began chasing him with a water balloon. However, when we eventually threw the balloon at him, he was surprised to find out that the balloon barely had any water in it and he didn’t even get wet. We burst out laughing.

Recently, my parents bought me a big, new water bottle. It was the kind I always wanted. I carried it to school and proudly showed it to all my friends, who admired it. Then, during break time, I opened the bottle and realised there was no water in it! My friends laughed and shared their water with me. I was so excited to carry the new bottle to school that I had forgotten to fill it!

My father always thinks that I am pretending to sleep, so I decided to play a trick on him. I placed two pillows under the blanket to make it appear like I was under the blanket. I hid out of my room, eagerly waiting to watch my father’s reaction. When my father entered the room, he actually thought I was under the blanket and began talking to me and told me to stop pretending to be asleep. I then surprised him by sneaking up behind him. He was both surprised and amused. My whole family had a good laugh.

Something that made me laugh was a video on social media. In the video, a man decided to go out of his house on Holi. He had worn white clothes, knowing he could be smeared with colours. Though his mother cautioned him that the children and people in the neighbourhood would drench him with water and smear colours on him, he paid no heed. When he stepped out, what his mother cautioned him about actually happened. People not only threw colours at him, but also drenched him with water balloons. They continued smearing him with colours, though he requested them to stop. In the end, his white clothes turned colourful and he looked extremely funny!

I have a funny memory of a sleepover at my friend’s place. After having an entertaining time, we decided to call it a night. All my friends were exhausted, so everyone fell asleep quickly. However, I was still awake and decided to watch a comedy movie on my phone until I felt sleepy. I got out of bed and sat on the sofa to watch the movie while everyone else was fast asleep. The movie was hilarious and I was trying hard to control my laughter so I wouldn’t disturb the others. In the meantime, my best friend woke up and began wondering who was on the sofa. She quietly started walking towards me. I wasn’t aware of this as I was engrossed in the movie. By then, the movie had reached its climax and the funniest thing happened! The moment my friend reached out to touch me, I burst out laughing and she screamed in fear! Everyone in the house woke up and all of us remember the incident to this day.
