Technology company Microsoft appointed an executive of Indian origin named Asha Sharma as the executive vice president and chief executive officer (CEO) of its gaming business. Sharma succeeded Phil Spencer and leads the division that includes the popular brand Xbox. Sharma has extensive experience in artificial intelligence (AI). During her career, she has headed the CoreAI Product group of Microsoft as its president. She has also held several other major roles, including Instacart’s chief operating officer (COO) and Meta’s vice president of product and engineering. In her new position, she will head the development of Microsoft’s gaming division, keeping up with the evolution and competition in the industry.
