Aditya Banger, a class 12 student at Mayo College, Rajasthan, has turned 1,000 tonnes of waste plastic into fabric. Banger hails from a family that runs a textile manufacturing business called Kanchan India Limited. In class 10, when he was in China with his uncle, he saw new fabric manufacturing techniques and came across a unit that converts massive amounts of waste into fabric. Banger was inspired to start his own company and named it ‘Trash To Treasure’. The process to turn plastic into fabric takes two days. The fabric is stronger and longer-lasting as compared to cotton.
