An 18-year-old student from Delhi named Uday Bhatia has innovated an inverter bulb that helps people in rural areas deal with power cuts. Motivated by his experience as a volunteer in Uttar Pradesh’s Bichpuri, a region affected by recurring power cuts, Uday created this bulb that offers lighting even during power failures. The bulb functions like an inverter, offering eight to 10 hours of power backup when a power failure occurs. Through his innovation, Uday hopes to help students in villages who struggle due to frequent power interruptions. The bulbs have been sold at a price of  ₹250 per unit in five states including Uttarakhand and Rajasthan. Uday plans to expand his venture in the future.
