To Add Big Numbers

To simplify the addition of big numbers, expand the numbers based on their place values. Then, add the values of the numbers in the same positions together. For example, add tens with tens and ones with ones. Then, add their sums together for the final answer.

For example: Take 65 + 47 Expand the numbers based on the digits’ place values. We get 60 + 5 and 40 + 7.Add tens with tens. We get 60 + 40 = 100.Now, add ones with ones. We get 5 + 7 = 12.Add the results. We get 100 + 12 = 112. So, 65 + 47 = 112.Try these for practice:57 + 94 =   _____________
