To cultivate the habit of reading among citizens, Singapore has launched an initiative called ‘ReadSg’ that motivates people to read for at least 15 minutes daily. The five-year national programme has been rolled out by the National Library Board (NLB) and offers financial incentives and features that aim to captivate individuals and develop a consistent reading habit. The initiative involves readers logging their reading sessions on an online platform called CrowdTaskSG, with each session being a minimum of 15 minutes. It allows readers to log one session a day, awarding them 20 virtual coins for a session. Individuals can exchange 1,000 such coins for S$1.
