The city of Ahmedabad in Gujarat experienced a considerable rise in the number of dengue cases in September.
More than 450 dengue cases were reported in the city from September 1 to 20, which was significantly higher than the number of cases recorded in the whole month of August. Additionally, cases of chikungunya and malaria were also reported.
According to experts, sporadic rainfall could have led to the collection of stagnant water, serving as mosquito-breeding zones.
The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) is tracking mosquito-borne disease cases and conducting inspections of mosquito-breeding areas as part of its efforts to control the outbreak.
