In our May 16-31, 2025 issue, we asked you to design 5 challenges for IPL’s new quadruped robot dog. Rishiraj Mandal, a class 7 student at St Mary’s School, Malda, West Bengal, replies:

  • Program the robot dog to retrieve the ball instantly from any part of the boundary using smart sensors and AI path tracking.
  • Use the robot for delivering energy drinks and gloves to players during strategic timeouts—faster than any human!
  • Choreograph a unique celebration dance for every six hit and wicket, making the crowd go crazy and creating viral moments.
  • Equip the robot with a 360-degree camera to live-stream ground-level action and exclusive player angles.
  • Train the robot to detect no-balls and front-foot faults in real-time using advanced image recognition and alert the third umpire.
