Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced an increase in the number of student admissions in government schools in the state. According to the announcement, the rise in student admissions took place during the present academic year due to various measures taken by the Himachal Pradesh government. These include the launch of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) syllabus in government schools, which led students to move to government schools from private schools. The government is working towards bolstering and upgrading the education framework in government schools in order to further transform the system in the coming years.
