The Embassy of France in India announced that PM Narendra Modi will be an attendee at the G7 (Group of Seven) Summit, an annual meeting between the G7 countries that discusses climate problems, economic issues and other matters. This year, it will be held from June 15 to 17 in France. Though India is not one of the G7 member countries, PM Modi’s participation will continue to enhance India’s relationships with leading countries. Jean-Noel Barrot, the French minister for Europe and foreign affairs, met with S Jaishankar, India’s external affairs minister, outside of the G7 foreign ministers’ meeting in March and engaged in talks on various issues, including the Strait of Hormuz’s security.
