To promote reading among students and restrict the use of mobile phones, the Karnataka government has planned to introduce the ‘Mobile Bidi Pustaka Hidi’ (keep the mobile down and pick up a book) campaign in the state’s government schools. The campaign will help raise awareness among students and parents about the negative effects and misuse of mobile phones and the benefits of reading. The government will partner with several departments, including the police department, which will focus on cautioning students about cybercrimes and other problems.
