India took part in the United Nations Global Dialogue on Artificial Intelligence (AI) Governance that took place in July in Geneva, Switzerland. The event touched upon the responsible use of AI and global collaboration on AI regulation and management. The Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh, who headed the Indian delegation, underscored the event’s significance in encouraging collaboration on the use of AI and its future and spoke about the importance of safeguarding human rights. He also emphasised the importance of inclusivity and consensus in devising AI governance frameworks and spoke about India’s AI strategy.
