Young Innovators: Dr Prasanna Jogdeo

A scientist named Dr Prasanna Jogdeo has started a company named Lemnion Green Solutions with Pooja Tendulkar, his student. Jogdeo’s company focusses on cleaning rivers and other waterbodies using duckweed, an aquatic plant. The company uses duckweed, which produces proteins from the nutrients that it absorbs from wastewater, to treat contaminated waterbodies. Jogdeo’s company also uses sedges (grasslike plants), canna and other plants to create systems that cleanse waterbodies. The company has partnered with private entities and the government for several projects to deal with water pollution.
