- The world’s tallest bamboo tower, measuring 140ft in height, was inaugurated virtually by Nitin Gadkari, the union minister of road transport and highways, on the occasion of World Bamboo Day.
- The tower, built by Bhavya Srishti Udyog in Chhattisgarh’s Bemetara district, can serve a variety of purposes, from being used as a telecom tower to functioning as a watch tower.
- It has been constructed at a cost of `11 lakh and can last for at least 25 years. It weighs 7,400kgs and can be moved from one location to another with ease.
- On the occasion, Gadkari highlighted the value of bamboo as a resource and promoted its use across different industries such as energy and construction.
