Yangtze River Three Gorges 1, the world’s largest electric cruise ship, made its maiden voyage in Yichang in China’s central Hubei province. The ship is 100mts long and 16mts wide and can accommodate 1,300 passengers. Powered by a 7,500-kilowatt-hour marine battery, it is able to travel for 100kms on a single charge. This ship will save close to 530 metric tonnes of fuel per charge.
