Numerous wildfires broke out in Los Angeles (LA) and other parts of Southern California in the USA at the beginning of January, destroying property and habitats and claiming more than 25 lives.
Though experts haven’t identified the exact cause of the fires, they believe dry vegetation, arid weather and strong winds caused the wildfires to spread.
Among the wildfires, the Palisades and Eaton fires stand out as the most catastrophic ones, damaging over 23,000 and 14,000 acres of land, respectively.
Hundreds of firefighters and disaster relief workers worked to combat the raging fires and evacuate people. To stop the fires from spreading, firefighting crews used air tankers to release a pink fire-retarding powder called Phos-Chek in LA.
