What Potential Applications Could Artificial General Intelligence Have?

sent by Arnav Khandelwal, Class 8, Alwar Public School, Rajasthan

Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) is a successor of AI. AGI is capable of performing most tasks that a human does and matches our cognitive abilities. This gives AGI many potential applications that might provide us with lots of benefits and change the way we live our lives in the future. Here are some potential applications:

  • Healthcare: This is one of the most useful applications AGI might have. This will not only help perform complex surgeries, which may not be possible today, but will also analyse patient diseases, perform whole body scans to detect problems and recommend the best treatments for given conditions. There are many other applications as well, but these would be the most exhilarating. Bionic research will help AGI connect robotics with our bodies. This will not only improve our health, but will also increase our life expectancy and prevent deaths from many diseases that require immediate treatment.
  • Education: Implementing AGI in education will help analyse each student and provide the best suggestions for them, which our current system fails to do. AGI can also be used by robots to teach; this will make learning faster. Answers given by the robots will be more accurate and AGI will be better enabled to clear students’ doubts while teaching them. When combined with Mixed Reality (MR), it will promote problem-solving in the real world, which is what is needed.
