The canals in Italy’s Venice have begun to dry up as a result of climate change. The city, which is built on islands, is popular for its canals that people depend on for transportation. However, low tides and frequent droughts have led to the drying up of canals over the past few years, making it challenging for water taxis and gondolas to travel around the city. According to scientists, since the Alps received less than half of the snowfall received normally, the country could face another drought this year. The drying up of canals will also affect the country’s tourism and economy.
