A professor at Stanford University, USA, named Jay Bhattacharya has been nominated as the director of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), USA’s leading medical research organisation dedicated to enhancing healthcare. As the director of NIH, Bhattacharya will work towards conducting research and tackling significant health concerns in the USA. Bhattacharya, who was born in Kolkata, has extensive expertise in economics and medicine. He relocated to the USA to pursue higher education and is an alumnus of Stanford University. In the past, Bhattacharya had attracted considerable attention for his controversial perspectives on COVID-19 regulations and policies.
