A group of scientists has discovered the fossil of a dinosaur, which is believed to be approximately 125 million years old, in China. The new species, named Haolong dongi, had unique features, including spikes on its body and overlapping scales on its tail. This is the first time such spikes have been identified in Haolong dongi a dinosaur species and scientists believe they may have helped the animal sense its surroundings or protect itself from predators. Another remarkable aspect of the fossil is that large sections of skin are well preserved, enabling scientists to gain a deeper understanding of the creature’s biology and history.
