Avinash Prabhu has been appointed as the chief financial officer (CFO) of the Union Bank of India, one of India’s major public sector banks. Prabhu assumed his new role on November 20 and will work in the position for three years. Prabhu, who has over 20 years of experience in the field of finance, will succeed Prafulla Kumar Samal, who held the post earlier. Prabhu is a chartered accountant and has worked as the CFO of India for Deutsche Bank and Credit Agricole CIB. He has experience in taxation, financial planning, financial reporting and asset and liability management.
