To Be a Top-position Police Officer

To be a top-position police officer one must complete:

  • After graduation, enrol for the Civil Services Exam, which is held in two phases—preliminary and main examinations. 
  • Thereafter, appear for the Indian Police Service (IPS) examination. 
  • After clearing IPS, clear a recruitment examination. Training is conducted after clearing the recruitment examination; this includes physical exercise, shooting, riding, combat, parade, lathi-training, handling riots and more.
