American singer Tina Turner, known for her songs, ‘What’s Love Got to Do With It’ and ‘The Best’, passed away on May 24 at the age of 83. Turner was famous for her lively stage performances and was nicknamed the ‘Queen of Rock and Roll’. At the beginning of her career, she partnered with her former husband Ike Turner and acquired fame in the 1960s with the release of songs such as ‘Proud Mary’ and ‘River Deep, Mountain High’. She later went on to become a solo artist and achieved great success. She won eight Grammy Awards and set the Guinness World Record for the largest paying concert attendance for a solo artist by performing in front of 1,88,000 people in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil in 1988. In 2021, she was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a solo artist.
