One day, a weary and weak woman was looking for food. She went from house to house. She begged at the house of a man. He gave her some bread, potatoes and spices enough to make a samosa. She thanked him wearily and went home glad. She soon set to work. She placed the samosa on the oil pan and exclaimed, “You yummy thing!” As soon as he felt the heat, he popped out two hands plus two legs and jumped out of the oil pan. He murmured, “You crazy woman, do you think I am going to stay here and be eaten!” And the Samosa Boy fled out through the window. The woman wept, “You are so mean, you cannot leave without being my dinner!”
Meanwhile, as the Samosa Boy was rushing through the forest, he met a large brown bear. The bear saw him and growled, “I have had nothing for dinner. Stop! I want to eat you.” The Samosa Boy replied, “Try try as you will–you cannot catch me–I am the Samosa Boy!”
Next, he met a jungle goose; when the white and black goose saw him it cried, “I want to fill my tummy with you! Stop right there!” The dusty Samosa Boy replied, “Try try as you will–you cannot catch me–I am the Samosa Boy!”
Then he met a golden-brown monkey who chattered, “I want to eat you because I cannot find a bunch of bananas!” The Samosa Boy said, “Try try as you will–you cannot catch me–I am the Samosa Boy!” Saying this, he went on.
He soon came face-to-face with a black rabbit that looked like a panther. The panther-like rabbit spoke out, “My favourite berries are very low in supply these days, so I want to eat you.” At this, he chuckled and replied, “Try try as you will–you cannot catch me–I am the Samosa Boy!”
The Samosa Boy felt overwhelmed. He had no idea about what was waiting for him! As he went on, he saw a long river with a lot of water. He did not long to get wet. He looked left and then right for help, then he saw a white tiger. The tiger kindly said, “Dear friend of mine, I can help you.” At this, the Samosa Boy was astonished. The tiger came down and told the Samosa Boy to hop onto his back. Without thinking twice, he jumped onto his back. When they were midway, the water got higher. The Samosa Boy asked the tiger, “Can I go onto your head?” “Yes, you can,” replied the tiger with a wide and cunning smile. After a while, the water was seeming close to the Samosa Boy. The tiger told him, “Step on my nose.” As soon as he stepped on the nose of the tiger, the tiger tossed his head and up flew the Samosa Boy and landed inside the tiger’s mouth.
Please guess—who are the only two people who know what happened to the Samosa Boy? The tiger and you of course!
