The 96th Academy Awards, better known as the Oscars, were held at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, USA, on March 10. The awards recognise remarkable achievements across different categories in the world of film.
American film ‘Oppenheimer’ won awards in seven categories including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Cinematography.
Emma Stone bagged the Best Actress award for her role as Bella Baxter in the movie ‘Poor Things’, while Cillian Murphy clinched the award in the Best Actor category for his role as J Robert Oppenheimer in the movie ‘Oppenheimer’.
Japanese filmmaker and animator Hayao Miyazaki won the Oscar in the Best Animated Feature category for ‘The Boy and the Heron’. This was Miyazaki’s second Oscar win in the category.
The dog named Messi, who made an appearance in the movie ‘Anatomy of a Fall’, attended the Oscars sporting a black bow tie. The seven-year-old border collie had his very own seat and charmed everyone at the event.
