The first-ever series production standard Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas trainer aircraft (LT5201), manufactured by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), completed its maiden flight from HAL’s airport in Bengaluru on April 5. The aircraft is a multi-role combat aircraft that can operate in high-threat air environments and will be used to train pilots who have finished advanced training. Tejas can be used for offensive air support, close combat and ground attack roles. It is the smallest and lightest aircraft in its class.
