Around 80,000 secondary school teachers in Kerala underwent three days of training in artificial intelligence (AI) in May. The training programme was conducted by Kerala Infrastructure and Technology for Education (KITE) and aims to provide teachers with advanced AI expertise by August 2024. Teachers for classes 8 to 12 were taught how to use AI to enhance the evaluation process, develop engaging content, generate images and make education interactive. This initiative is the first of its kind in India and aims to modernise education.
