To establish a clean, green and plastic-free community, we at Tatva Global School organised an initiative called ‘Tatva Swachh Sankalp’. The initiative involved educating vendors in the market about the negative impact of plastic and the importance of switching to eco-friendly alternatives. As part of the initiative, teachers and students visited the local weekly market at Gajularamaram and approached vendors, encouraging them to switch to cloth or paper bags. Through the initiative, we also enlightened shoppers and vendors on the hazards caused by single-use plastic. We explained how using eco-friendly bags to carry vegetables, fruits and other daily essentials is a responsible step towards protecting the environment and how making this effective transition in businesses could bring about a lasting environmental transformation. This initiative gave students practical experience in addressing a challenge and reminded them of their responsibility towards the environment. Teachers and students engage in this initiative on market day in Gajularamaram every week. Through such initiatives, our school continues to encourage us to practise environmental responsibility.
