Sufiya Khan, a 35-year-old athlete, set a Guinness World Record for travelling the Golden Quadrilateral on foot in the shortest time. The Golden Quadrilateral is a national highway network that connects Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai. Khan started her run from New Delhi on December 16, 2020, and completed the circuit on April 6, 2021. She finished the 6,002km journey in 110 days, 23 hours and 24 minutes. She was certified as the ‘fastest female to run along the Indian Golden Quadrilateral Road’ on April 2, 2022. Khan is passionate about ultra-distance running and left her job in aviation to pursue her passion. She is already a holder of a Guinness World Record for being the fastest woman to run from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. She is also the first woman to complete the Manali to Leh ultramarathon in just six days.
