Astronomers have discovered a strange galaxy that formed nearly one billion years after the Big Bang with the help of the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST). This galaxy, called GS-NDG-9422 (9422), has gas that seems to be more luminous than its stars, which is an unusual characteristic. According to scientists, numerous new stars are developing vigorously in a gas cloud within the galaxy. These enormous, scorching stars are heating and illuminating the gas cloud, causing it to glow intensely. This discovery will help astronomers comprehend how galaxies evolved in the universe’s early stages.

According to astronomers, the youngest known galaxy is about 500 million years old.
