The Bengaluru-headquartered Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA) organised a ‘Star Party’ at Ladakh’s Hanle Dark Sky Reserve from October 12 to October 15. 30 amateur astronomers from across India attended the event with their telescopes and other equipment to observe and click images of the night sky. Due to the reserve’s dark skies and the absence of pollution, the participants were able to observe, study and capture images of a variety of celestial objects and celestial phenomena that are not visible from other places.
